Q&A "Do lotions and potions said to increase female arousal work?"
By Celeste Perron
Be skeptical of pills and creams that promise to boost sexual arousal. "Because these products aren't regulated by the FDA, their marketers can make claims they want, and they may not be
safe," says Andre Guay, an endocrinologist in Peabody, Massachusetts, who specializes in sexual dysfunction. "Look for products that are supported by placebo-controlled clinical trials."
One option that has been subjected to such research and shown to be effective is a topical oil called Zestra®, and an herbal
supplement called ArginMax for Women shows promise, says Dr.
Guay. But before you try any such product, run the list of ingredients by your doctor.
