Our current social and political climate encourages sexual silence. Public funding is being denied for organizations willing to take a stand and teach empirically supported comprehensive
sexuality education. Professionals encouraging healthy and diverse sexual expression and exploration are often viewed with suspicion. As sexuality professionals, it is our responsibility to
stand up to protect the sexual rights of the public and to speak out strongly on what is known to be sexually healthy or encourages sexual health. In this spirit of advocacy, AASECT
solicits workshops, round table discussions, and brief presentations that address issues of advocating for sexual rights and sexual health. Presentations will provide broad appeal to both
novice and experienced professionals in the areas of sexuality education, counseling, and therapy from a regional to a global perspective.
