ABOUT THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NURSE PRACTIONERS IN WOMENS HEALTH (NPWH)
The National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH) is celebrating two milestones this year, our Silver Anniversary and the purchase of permanent headquarters in the
heart of Capitol Hill. NPWH is a dynamic organization that is constantly moving forward in the field of women’s health. This conference reflects the main mission of NPWH—delivering high-
quality health care to women—as well as its other purposes: providing leadership for nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and other clinicians who provide care to women; and organizing
conferences such as this one. Our conferences cover a wide range of topics and deal with the most important issues in women’s health today.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants at this conference will be able to:
- Describe clinical issues specific to women’s health in the areas of sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases, urologic disorders, immunologic disorders, and mental health
- Incorporate new diagnostic and therapeutic skills into their clinical practice.
- List current trends and research in the provision of contraceptive methods and therapies for menopausal symptoms.
- Identify key issues related to caring for pregnant women, including common problems seen in pregnancy as well as recognizing higher-risk pregnancies.
